Refresh Vst Plugins Cubase
Open Cubase and open the Plug-in Manager found under the 'Devices' tab. Click the cog wheel to open the 'Plug-in Manager Settings. Next, click the 'Rescan All' button as show in the image below: WINDOWS users will need to add the default VST plugin paths. This VST plugin is free and does the job quite well, and it contains a few amplifiers and pedals. However, one downfall of this guitar VST plugin only works with 32bit, which means it won’t work on a 64-bit system. The interface on this one is a little hard to figure out, but once you do, you can achieve a wide variety of sounds. 32-bit plug-ins on 64-bit Windows: C: Program Files (x86) Common Files VST2. Any other folder your VST host application is scanning during startup by default is also suitable. But, to keep plug-in installations independent from a specific VST host release, never install plug-ins into the program folder of the VST host application or any other.

Scanning Lié inside Cubase
Cubase scans its plug-in database on every launch.
In macOS, Cubase will scan the default folder for VST plug-ins, which contains Lié.vst.

If you defined another folder where your VST2 plug-ins are located and expected by Cubase, you could manually move the Lie.dll to this folder to make sure it is recognized. Or you just add C:Program FilesVstplugins to the folders that are scanned by Cubase. You can define the list of scanned folders here:
Studio -> VST Plug-in Manager
- Click on the gear icon in the bottom left corner. VST 2 Plug-in Path Settings will open.
- Click on the '+' icon to select and add the folder Lié.dll is located at.
- Click the Refresh All button (the circling arrows) to manually rescan the plug-in database.

Enabling MIDI Input from Touché (SE)
- Go to Studio -> Studio Setup -> MIDI Port Setup and activate 'In 'All MIDI' button for In TOUCHE (yellow).
Note: Please do not activate MIDIIN2 (TOUCHE) as MIDI input, since this would interfere with the recognition system between Lié and the Touché hardware.
Loading Lié in a track
- Add a new Instrument Track and choose Lie from the dropdown list.
- Make sure that the new track has 'All MIDI Inputs' activated for its MIDI input. This way it will both accept notes from your keyboard as well as parameter changes from your Touché (SE).
- Activate the 'Record Enable' button of the track.
Editing automations
You will find the automation that you recorded as Controller Lanes within the MIDI Part.
- Double-click on the MIDI Part that you recorded.
- In the Lower Zone, below the Piano Roll, you will find the Controller Lanes that were created
- Choose the following entries from the dropdown menu:
- CC 16 (Gen Purp)
- CC 17 (Gen Purp)
- CC 18 (Gen Purp)
- CC 19 (Gen Purp)
- Click on the '+' below, if you want to have several lanes open at once.
Mapping directly with Cubase's Track Quick Controls
In order to control other parameters than those of VST instruments hosted inside Lié, you could still use Touché (SE) as a MIDI class compliant controller in Cubase.

- Go to Studio -> Studio Setup -> Track Quick Controls
- Set TOUCHE as MIDI Input.
- Add all the axes on Touché that you want to map as QuickControls in the list (Controller 16/17/18/19). Attention: As long as an axis of Touché SE is assigned in Quick Controls, this axis won't be able to get through to control Lié anymore.
